Fall is coming with all its joys, and that includes fun activities for all ages! Here are a few ideas for what you can do with your children of any age, together as a family or one-on-one, to really enjoy the season.
Pumpkin Patches & Apple Orchards
Chances are you don’t live too far from a pumpkin patch or apple orchard! Try taking a trip with the kids to get out in the fresh air for a bit! Pick your own produce, try tasting something new, and take the time to really breathe in the fall scents of fresh food and baking. Many of these places will also have playgrounds for younger kids, and a small shopping area where teens can hang out.
Trying fall flavored treats
It’s rare for anyone who has internet to miss the pumpkin spice latte trend each fall, but that’s not the only fall flavored thing to try! Take your teen out for some coffee at a local shop, and see what their fall flavors are. They may have some you have never even heard of! With little ones, see if you have any local bakeries or candy shops that have seasonal treats, like pie flavored ice cream or cupcakes. If there aren’t any near you, try some fun fall recipes in your own kitchen, and let the kiddos help!
DIY fall decorations
This can be as grown up or childish as you make it! From handprint turkeys, to painted gourds, to a fall collector’s showcase that everyone can add to, the ideas about fall decorations are frugal, fun, and appropriate for any age. A quick google or Pinterest search brings up hundreds of ideas and pieces of inspiration, so it’s easy to find something perfect for your family.
Whatever traditions you have or want to start, take some time this weekend and have some fall fun with your family!
